The Bloomberg Arts Internship (BAI) is an eight-week program, running JUNE 20 to AUGUST 15, 2025, that partners with arts and culture organizations in Philadelphia to provide valuable internship opportunities to rising high school seniors. The Cultural Alliance conducts a rigorous application and interview process to match our worksites with candidates whose skills and passions match their unique needs and mission.

In addition to completing daily tasks as assigned, all interns are responsible for completing worksite projects, which are planned and implemented in collaboration with worksite supervisors. The worksite project is a crucial link between BAI's professional development curriculum and the worksite experience. As a part of the onboarding process, worksites will be required to submit an intern work plan, outlining key projects, timelines and goals for their interns.

In 2025, we aim to provide in-person worksite experiences to our interns. This means that your organization is responsible for providing background clearances for each person who will work in close contact with the interns. In order for interns to be sent to your organization, we will need to see proof of the following for each adult/ supervisor who interacts with interns: PA Criminal Background, PA Child Abuse and FBI Fingerprinting. Please click here to access the application forms for each.

Interns work 21 hours per week with wages paid by the Cultural Alliance, and worksites receive a $1,000 stipend per intern placed with their organization. Additional benefits for worksite partners include a robust support system and onboarding provided at no cost.  In addition to worksite partnerships, the Cultural Alliance also works with a diverse group of organizations to provide half-day in person and remote cultural immersion experiences. Depending on the host, a cultural immersion might include tours, workshops, or performances, as well as staff and artist Q&As with the intern cohort. Organizations that host a cultural immersion may receive up to $2,500. If you are interested in hosting a cultural immersion experience, but NOT participating as a worksite, contact the Cultural Alliance at BAI@philaculture.org for more information.  Worksite applications are open through March 30.  PLEASE NOTE: There will be 1 mandatory Job Fair event on May 17, 2024, where at least one representative from your organization will need to attend.

Be aware that your worksite may not be paired with an intern. If this is the case we would still encourage you to work with us as a cultural immersion site throughout the summer.   Learn more about the Bloomberg program at https://philaculture.org/bloomberg-worksite-information.  Questions?
